When our outside playtime happens to be recess, the Pre-K students love finding their brothers, sisters and cousins.
Play and Exploration - Allows children to learn while they actively engage in what is interesting to them. Colouring pictures that the students can connect with increases the likelihood of practicing pincher grip and conversations.
Sensory activities allow creativity and satisfaction for tactile needs and social or independent play.
Blocks give opportunity to practice balance, symmetry, categorization, creativity and more social/language development.
Dramatic play let's us be heroes, villains, doctors, patients police officers, criminals, musicians, carpenters and so much more. I can't tell you how many needles I have been given this month, I am sure to stay strong though germ season.
Small pieces give us sorting, organizing and storytelling opportunities. The block people are all friends, there is a traffic jam on the light table and the animals must stay with their group.
Books and pillows allow down time that can be alone or with friends.
Good-bye Mrs. Willford we will miss you.
Welcome to our classrom of Play and Exploration, Mrs. Pearson!
