In our classroom there are many opportunities to develop sorting skills.
The ability to identify the purpose of items and understand how items are the same or different is the beginning of literacy. To READ, you must be able to see how letters and words are the same or different. To comprehend you must be able to understand language that describes.
Here you see samples of how the FOOD goes in the fridge, the baking dishes go in under the stove and the eating dishes go in the cupboard.
Dress up can be sorted too.
The masks are in one box, hats in another, costumes in the big box and shields beside the costume box.
