Kindergarten November

Putting puzzles together is an excellent way to practice co-operation, develop stamina, recognize shapes, spaces, colours, patterns and use fine motor skills. They are also lots of fun.

Lara found this bird nest on the way back from bowling. It inspired a study of the Robin.

November was most exciting as we became a class of 7!

We are so excited to have Gavin join our learning fun. Center time allows students to explore areas of particular interest to them. This is an example of extended pattern making that took a very long period of sustained concentration. Avery revisited the 100 Board and count to 100 all by himself.

We had a great visit to the Public Library where Giselle gave them Library Cards, read some stories and provided everything to make gingerbread men! Thanks so much for having us.

Pre-K November

Sticky snow is fun for making balls, Harlow was very proud of how big she could roll it!
Allton made angels all over the playground!
Fishing and Playdough develops knowledge of  to name letters and link sounds

We count everything. Jason had lots of fun organizing the number board.
This was a blue day and we practiced pinching our pencils and using our fine motor muscles to colour with control.

Lydia's tower WAS taller than Allton's. Lyra stood way back so she wouldn't knock over Eli's tower then she gave a TALL tower a try herself. It's noisy but so much fun and great for developing motor skills and structural concepts.

October Pre-K

October was filled with learning opportunities. Fine motor, sorting, colouring Thanksgiving turkeys, fishing for letters and role playing.

During Education Week, our class hosted a guest speaker, Mrs. Stirling and had a, Healthful Hotdog Lunch for our families.
Who knew cutting up fruit and vegetables was so fun!

Lining up is a most wonderful skill and we mastered it!  Way to go class!

Parent helpers increase interactions during play based activities. Adults can model co-operative play, clear speech, increase vocabulary and further learning.

We found a Halloween version of, Wheels on the Bus, and it was so popular we made our own bus and read/sang it again.

Everyday students engage with each other and their environment. They are inquisitive, imaginative and eager to show off what they know as well as try new activities.
Halloween was the perfect day to wear their favorite costumes from home and a great reason to do sensory based play stations.

They made funny faces for their snack.

Again support from the parents was welcomed on such an exciting day!
